Services Silvestrum is a small firm with a limited number of employees and associates, guaranteeing minimal overheads, a personal and flexible approach, resulting in client-oriented, tailor-made deliverables. Silvestrum was founded in 2008 by merging Treeness Consult (Eveline Trines) and Emmer Internationaal (Igino Emmer) bringing over 40 years of experience together in one firm. We assist in the creation of carbon assets in land-use projects for compliance and voluntary markets worldwide. Having pioneered in project development since the mid 1990s, we are specialised in afforestation/reforestation, reducing emissions from deforestation and degradation, improved forest management, peatland management and bioenergy, under various standards (CDM, VCS, CCBA, FSC etc.). We also provide services to timber industries engaged in sustainable forest management and preparing for SFM certification systems and food industries that wish to develop carbon neutral business strategies based on responsible land management. Our expertise remains up to date by actively participating in the debate on climate change mitigation policies, which results in the ability to provide policy advice to governments, ministries, businesses and intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations alike, as well as the provision of capacity building materials and trainings for advisors, negotiators, practitioners, communities and other stakeholders. We have access to a global network of specialists in the area of climate change mitigation through policy developments as well as designing and implementing AFOLU projects and sustainable forest management initiatives.
